We are in a perilous times and the world is full of evil and daily children are targeted for these evil all over the world. As parents we have a hug role to play in ensuring that our kids are shielded from all evils

Proverb 22 vs 6 commanded parents to train up a child the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it. The question is how do we apply this scripture?

It is important to understand the place of prayers in the way a child should go, and it starts from conception till they grow old, however at teenage stage, parents should involve the children in the way they should go through prayers.

The place of prayers during pregnancy can not be over emphasized in the life of a child, it does not matter how you pray or when you pray. As a woman you should pray at all times whether as single or married

3 WAYS TO PROMOTE CHILDREN TO SAVE

We are in a society, where parents are busy with work and all kinds of activities, thereby leaving their kids in the hands of maid and relatives.

It is imperative for parents to understand that children must be nurtured in all areas in order to face the society and the future ahead.

It is important to promote and encourage our children to be financially responsible at the early stage of their life and this can only be possible when parents are involved.  To promote children financially give them an understanding on how to manage their money through saving, spending or investing.

  Tips on how to promote children to save;

i   Show the Act; As parents ensure you are saving and involve your children in the act. This can be achieved by having a safe box where you dropped money daily and explain to your children what you are doing and why you are doing it. Children tend to learn faster from what they see, especially what they see their parents do.
ii Reward the Act; Make saving attractive for them, this can be achieved by rewarding them for saving. For instance, tell them that they can get 10% of whatever they saved for the month.  By doing this, you are telling them that saving attracts interest 

iii Make the act attractive;   You can monetize some task done by the children,  by so doing, you are teaching them, that labor attracts reward and in order to be financially stable in life you need to work hard to earn the money.

The cognitive development of a child is a process through which a child learns, acquires, and interactive with her environment and it requires parents to apply different skill as the child develops from one stage to another. As parent you can promote your child intellectually in areas such as assimilation, concentration, memory, attention, perception and observing by engaging them in different activities that will enhance skills daily.

Here are different ways you can improve their intellectual skills;

1 Identify colors;  you can help them to identify colors from what they put , the color of toys they play e.g you can say "mimi is put on a white dress

2. Identify shapes; you can assist your kids to identify shapes objects as they grow up in their environment, You can say the orange is round in shape, the television is square in shape

3 To build their perception; ask question about their favorite food and ask them why they like the food, what is their favorite color. This will build their abilities to solve problems 

4 Teach them Alphabet and allow them to identify  each alphabet by playing with alphabet puzzle and by singing daily with alphabet and allow them to sing after you.

HOW TO PROMOTE CHILDREN IN LIFE

Parenting or child rearing is the process of promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social, financial, and intellectual development of a child from infancy to adulthood. Parenting refers to the aspects of raising a child aside from the biological relationship.( Wikipedia Definition)

I will like to elaborate on the following promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social, financial and intellectual development of a child

In promoting our kids every aspect of the child should be considered , the physical, emotional, social, financial and intellectual. The question is how I do promote my kids physically, here are some quick tips on how to promote them physically

As parents we should educate and encourage our children to exercise daily or weekly these includes dancing, swimming, running, skipping, jogging, walking…they are healthful.

Promoting children physically can be fun when parents are involved.

How do I get involved in promoting my children physically?

1 Choose a particular day of the week to exercise

2 Study each child to know what sport/exercise he/she is interested in/enjoys

3 Encourage your child to do the exercise she/he enjoys

4 Make sure as a parent you do exercise, children tend to do what they see their parents do

5 Create a safe environment for them

6 The above points can only be fun when you physically involved( play with them)
